I am a good husband : Abhishek Bachchan

Not so for Abhishek Bachchan, who has already carved out his niche in Bollywood in his nine-year long film career. Riding high on the box-office success of Dostana , Abhishek took time out for a candid chat with TOI. We caught his many moods. Exclusive excerpts:

Different strokes
“I know what is required out of an actor. I think I have become more experienced and I am prepared as an actor. I have learned many things over the years. As an actor I want to play a variety of characters. I am fortunate to get to do such roles. I have never deliberately tried to do different roles, I just happened to get them. I don’t regret doing any film.”

Rakeysh & Sonam
“I am nervous about Delhi 6. I always get nervous on Fridays when my film releases. We put in so much hard work for a film, that’s why Fridays make me so nervous. But Delhi 6 is a good film and made very well. It is a very realistic film and its music is really appealing. As an actor I hope to meet the expectations of people. Rakeysh Mehra and I had wanted to work with each other for very long. He met every expectation of mine. It was wonderful working with him. Sonam (Kapoor) is a wonderful person and a very promising actress. It was a pleasure having her on the sets. She is really hardworking.”

Family album
“I do consult my family before taking up a film, but I take the final call. I would be dumb not to take their advice.”

Ash you like it...
“I don’t think I have changed after marriage. I am still the same guy I used to be. I guess I am a good husband. Aishwarya is extremely down-to-earth. She is very humane.”

Beyond movies
“I am passionate about cinema and acting. I never get time for myself because I am always working. But I am happy that I am getting that much work. When I get a little time off work, I like listening to music, watching movies and reading autobiographies. My favourite autobiography is Marlon Brando’s Songs My Mother Taught Me.”

Fashion code
“I know people say, I’ve often been spotted wearing blue denims and white shirt but that’s coincidental. I wear whatever comes in my hand when I wake up from bed.”

Fit hai to hit hai
“As an actor I have had to put on and shed weight to fit into the character that I am playing. That’s what my directors expect from me. But in personal life, I don’t follow any diet or any fitness chart.”

I, me, myself
“I don’t look within myself to find out what my strengths or weaknesses are. I am just another normal guy.”

Hot Girls from Bollywood

Celina Jaitley:
Looking like an Egyptian beauty, and why not, after all she is the brand ambassador for tourism of Egypt.

Sherlyn Chopra:
Me and my body.. Sherlyn is the most talked about actress on the internet. And it has got nothing to do with her acting... the bare all girl has currently had a ass job done to give it that perfect shape.

Kareena Kapoor:
the latest bikini girl. Bebo is perhaps the highest actor in Bollywood, earning the maximum through endorsements, stage shows, appearances and of course, movies..

Deepika Padukone:
The latest siren.. Deepika is the new kid on the block and is enjoying every moment under the sun.. biggest banners, biggest corporates and the biggest of stars keep her company these days..

Bipasha Basu:
The best Bengali bombshell.. She started the trend with Jism, which was followed by almost every actress intinsel town. Being bad pays big bucks and the best in the business is our very own Bips

Mallika Sherawat:
The Sleeping Beauty: Hidden in her ivory tower, the actress who loved creating headlines has gone underground. Mallu, pl remember, out of sight is out of mind..

Mallika in demand

Mallika Sherawat has always been in demand. Sometimes by the media, sometimes by older men.. remember Parresh Rawal and Nana Patekar are her big friends.. and now it's the men on her set.

Mallika is currently shooting for Sanjay Chhel's Maan Gaye Mughall-e-Azam and the schedule has been a long and tough one. After a long and gruelling day, the director fired some spot boys for their slipshod work.

To the astonishment of one and all, Mallika stood up for the spot boys and asked Chhel, the director to take it easy. She said, Please don't shout on the sets. It creates too much of unpleasantness and no work is done. So please calm yourself and talk to them properly."

There was a stunned silence. Sanchita, who is the production in charge of the film remarked, "I have never seen any actor stand up for these workers. It's a great feeling. I wish more and more actors would take up the cause for them. They are under paid and over worked, so a little bit of compassion helps their morale."

Since that day, all the workers are Mallika's biggest fans. They attend to her slightest whims and pamper her. Good going, Mallika. It’s nice to see someone stand up for the cine workers who contribute a lot to India's glitz and glamour.

DEEPIKA BACK TO RANBIR

No sooner Kareena Kapoor shifted to Saif Ali Khan after ditching her boyfriend Shahid Kapur with whom she dated for several years than we have another such news. This is about the newcomer Deepika Padukone who shot to fame in her debut Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'Om Shanti Om'. Deepika is stated to have quit her relationship with cricketer Yuvraj Singh and shifted to Ranbir Kapoor . This is a sort of comeback for Deepika though as she had been linked with him earlier too. The report isn't a gossip as the industry bigwigs have witnessed it .At the 53rd Fair One Filmfare awards function, they were caught unawares saying 'I love you' to each other. The duo came together backstage and waited for their entry. While Ranbir was found looking into Deepika's eyes there , Deepika wasn't far behind in repeating her love to him. That's not the whole story. The onlookers saw the duo holding hands through the night at Farah Khan's party. This isn't new for them as they had been close to each other during the shooting in Australia for Siddharth Anand's film, and not in the distant past. Yuvraj may be aware of it, as he hadn't liked Deepika ignoring him for Ranbir for quite some time.

Bollywood Gossips - Neha Dhupia undermines her beau

Having won the 'Fa' Femina Miss India title long back in 2002, Bollywood Actress Neha Dhupia is indeed a beautiful lass and one among the pretty ladies in Bollywood today. Although Neha Dhupia has failed to leave an impact on Bollywood, she has left the imprint of being a sexy lady among the audience. Her beauty and sex appeal is not only a topic of discussion among her directors, but also the audience! But here is the anti-climax; Neha does not consider herself to be beautiful at all!!

Believe it or not, Neha Dhupia does not consider her to be beautiful, but says that she is average-looking. Neha says, "I don't consider myself to be beautiful and my appearance is like the other girls in general. According to me, Lisa Ray and Aishwarya Rai are beautiful women." Recalling an incident of her childhood days, Neha says, "I was so fatty during my school days that no boy used to talk with me. Neither did anyone present me any gift. A reason for this could be that my father, who was in the Army, and my elder brother always protected me like bodyguards."

All these notwithstanding, winning the Miss India title, Neha has proved to the world that she is not only beautiful, but also intelligent. Anyways, it seems that the boys at Neha's school must be repenting now. Had they presented Neha Dhupia with gifts then, it might be possible that they could win her heart then!

Well, after learning about Neha's story, we have begun wondering if the fantasy stories being shown on Indian television these days are inspired from her life. Many of these soaps storyline revolves around beautiful girls who either resemble superstars or are maids waiting for the prince charming to come and propose their hands. Don't you too think in a similar manner?
